Forget mass-produced, boring and uninspired design. My mission with Naked For Satan is to deliver stunning and creative examples of candle art. As an avid traveller, I spent much of my youth running around the globe, settling in Indonesia before heading to Australia. Whilst exploring Melbourne, I came across THE MOST funky bar I'd ever set eyes upon. It was called… Naked for Satan. Not only was the ambience perfection itself, the cocktails were also to die for. But most importantly they stocked my favourite champagnes - Ruinart and Billecart-Salmon Rose! I have never forgotten that whole experience of sitting on the roof terrace, sipping champagne beneath a blazing hot sun - wondering what to do with my life... and what they did with the empty bottles! So when it came to creating my candle business, there was never a doubt that the name should pay homage to the place where it all began.
Naked For Satan is all about bringing you eye-catching and eccentric creations, which will add personality, glamour, style and even a touch of humour to any interior. The collection is all designed in-house - and is intended to bring a wild reworking of the traditional - blending the classic with the modern. Promising to inject a feeling of the exotic and erotic into your home.

Driven by all things vintage, vegan and ethical, Naked For Satan takes a cruelty-free approach in sourcing every item we use to create our candle holders. We take great pride in the lengths to which we go to find stunning, often unique bottles which sit alongside antique crystal glasses. Even now we are in the process of fashioning beautiful tea lights out of perfume bottles, and creating garden candles with wind proof wicks - Watch this Space!
Stage 1. Between EBAY, friends, family and of course my own secret stash of drinking vessels, a theme of fusing the old with the new has been born. Our sourcing expertise is key to the production process, built on my many years experience of buying vintage goods on and offline. We only use bottles that have been ethically sourced, and the candles are vegan and 100% cruelty free, for the production of our niche and luxury items.

Stage 3. The whole process I use derives from my passion of beautiful objects and is time intensive. Wicks are attached to the bottom of the cleaned, cut, polished bottles and the candle wax is poured in small batches. We use 100% soy wax to create a clean burn - it's a technique used by many makers globally. It has the added benefit of supporting the soybean farmers who are under intense economic pressure. Alternatively, we also use soy gel wax, which is translucent, vegan, natural and biodegradable with the consistency of jelly. This gives the wax a slow melt rate and the finished candle will have a longer burn time, making it good value for money, despite its initial expense. It's because of the clarity of the gel ,wax, that it's common to find embeds inside, such as sliced dried fruits, small glass ornaments, glitter or anything that won't melt at a temperature lower than the wax. The luxury effect is enhanced by scents and quirky items and left to set.
Stage 4. We only use reclaimed bottles and glassware which are subject to flaws. But it's this perfect imperfection that makes them special.
Stage 5. One advantage of NFS candles being formed from glass bottles and containers is that they can be used for your continued enjoyment. Once your candle has burned down, leave approx 5cm of wax in the bottom of the container. Then you can either send it back for us to refill. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, get in touch and we'll happily walk you through the process of trying it for yourself. There would be no charge, of course - we'd just be thrilled to help.
